Every step of lower temperature requires different polymers/curing systems and adequate formulations for optimum productivity and performance. GITIS is able to demonstrate the TR10 value by applying the DSC method to define exactly the glass brittle point for the various technologies. The LT technology is especially designed for rubber seals in oil drilling in cold environment as well as in the latest automotive engine technologies i.e. LPG, CNG or diesel/gasoline direct injection.

 

 

FKM/FPM: the addition of perfluoromethylvinylether (PMVE) in combination with peroxide cross-linking system provides significantly improved low temperature flexibility compared to copolymers and terpolymers.

HNBR: the so called ACN content defines the low temperature performance for special HNBR types with improved low temperature TR10 of -34 °C down to -37 °C, providing a good balance of oil and low temperature resistance, very good for arctic oil and gas drilling applications as well as automotive uses (permeation rate and swelling need to be checked for each single application).
